The Hartford Fair Steer Pool has a new website which is now up and on-line.
We have a nice selection of calves to choose from again this year. Within the next month we will begin to wean a few of the January / February heifers for our local shows and all of our calves will be registered with the American Simmental Association through the THE program. Below is a sample of what we have to offer. Breeding for next year is more than half over and we look to use many of the same bulls again. The Upgrade, Fat Butt, Macho, and Shearforce calves are all looking great. We have also added a new herd sire DSC Brute Force (a Jewel son out of Daume Legend). This guy is a real brute and has tremendous EPD’s and pedigree. We are very excited about his potential and looking forward to seeing some of his calves on the ground next spring.

Calving season is quickly wrapping up and breeding for next years calf crop is well underway. Hoping to get some good pictures over the next couple of days and post a few. There is a great selection of bulls and heifers again this year. We even have a few clubbies in the mix by Time Saver and Survivor. We will be weaning a few by mid June for our county fair. Weather in the 80’s last 3 days is allowing us to get the cows out on pasture ahead of schedule.
The wetlands installed last summer are looking great. There are several nests of geese and I have also been seeing some ducks.
