Dickson Simmental, Farm Report April 24, Simmental Cattle on Pasture

Weather has been great if you are a duck.  We have been getting rain almost daily for the past several weeks.  No one in our area has even thought about planting or even getting in the fields.  The grass really isn’t growing either.  The ground and evening temps are still rather cool. My sons baseball practices have been even slim to none.

The calves are looking great.  Attached are a few pics form this weekend.

Fear This- Maine / Who Made Who Dam x Shorthorn- JSF Capiche Sire

Ruby Jewels new heifer calf out of McDreamy

This was our last calf of the year.  Check out Ruby Jewels info under donor page.

DSC Reba 1008X- one of our yearlings loving the lush green grass. This a daughter from our JF Reba 364N x Dream On donor.

Full Brother to the above DSC Reba daughter.

He will make someone a nice herd sire next spring.   Check him out this summer.  Great EPD numbers.

Here is a Really Stout 3/4 blood SimAngus Jan 2, 2011 heifer. She is growing like a weed.

This heifer will make a great brood cow to breed either Club Calf or Simmental.

Here is another picture of 1101Z.

Here is a fancy Built Right daughter from one of my older Performer Cows

This one will definitely have a nice show career and see some purple.

If you want really really small calves at birth- Breed them Red Angus. Here is a darling heifer with a 52# birth weight from a 1/2 blood SimAngus first calf heifer.

Did I tell you we have chickens. My son was wanting laying hens. Here they are at 4 weeks. 12 more weeks and then maybe some brown eggs.

I will keep you posted on the chickens.
